My journey to 100

The journey to running a 100 mile event will take some quite interesting bends. This blog is my way to keep track of them.

Why I started running

Posted on 19/08/201922/08/2019 by twan

In March 2017 two of my buddies, Jeroen and Dirk, ran the local 10K Venloop. While I was supporting them (read: drinking beers in the crowd) I noticed their end time was doable for me, by just walking that distance. I told them.

SOOOO. Next year, I had to prove that.

August 2017, I thought, let’s at least do some running training, so I will not completely look like a fool.
From the first time I ran, I was hooked completely.
Within a month I set my first goal, running a marathon before 2020.

So as 2020 is nearing, I have already run the full marathon distance (42.2K / 26.2M) during a sunday training, and will run my first marathon race on October 13 in Eindhoven.
